If you want to be a good nurse you should know “ what are the qualities of a good nurse ?”A good nurse provides good nursing care to the patients. Thos means that they should have good clinical knowledge and professional skills. The patient is the priority at work, keeping the patient safe and being their biggest advocate.
When the nurse shows compassion and true caring for them, the patient and their family will love you forever. Another very import quality for nurse to have is the ability to listen. It’s amazing how much you can learn about your patient if you just take the time to stop and listen and truly hear them.
In additional, a good nurse should have number of positive qualities : honesty, compassion, empathy, diplomacy, efficiency, tolerance, humor, humbleness, assertiveness (not aggressiveness), self confidence, self respect, integrity, punctuality and a passion for work.
A good nurse should respect other’s opinion and beliefs. The nurse should accept that people are different and people from different backgrounds behave differently. Be non-judgmental. You should be willing to admit your errors and learn from them, at the same time you should forgive errors in others. Forgive and forget is the way to be happy. A good nurse should be a good student throughout life, always willing to learn and never too stubborn or “set in their ways” to learn something new
